Head Creeps.
Star Staley is just like any other 16 year old; she's questioning who she is, she's getting into fights with her dad, and she's having trouble with her friends. Oh, and she has spiders come out of her ears…
When I was attending SCAD, I was struck by this imagery of girls covered in spiders. What if Little Miss Muffet had that big spider on her, and she knew and it was horrified, but tried to ignore it. I combined this image with a girl sitting on the floor of a bathroom stall, and Head Creeps was born.
Head Creeps was pitched as a thesis film but was not greenlit, but a lot of my peers showed interest in the film. One day I hope to see Head Creeps come to life as an animated film, but I expanded the idea and turned it into a webcomic.
The look is based off of 90s animation, especially Sailor Moon and the Simpsons.
The name Head Creeps comes from the Alice in Chains song of the same name.
